Shangwa (female) on patrol
How close can you get? ........ That close !!
By standing up on her hind legs, Shangwa leaves her scent mark in the tree - a warning to other female leopards that this territory is occupied
Being opportunists, leopards will take any opportunity to hunt while patrolling their territory
Leopards & lions often walk on game park roads - which makes tracking the big cats from vehicles much easier
Pinknose lying in a Marula tree
The park's trackers can tell whether paw prints (spoor) are from female or male leopard by the size - males have larger tracks
Marula trees have broad branches ideal for sleeping leopards
One of Pinknose's cubs, now 7 months, looks down on (a hyaena waiting below for scraps to fall from the duiker kill above)
The other cub looks up (at the kill)
Almost hidden, the cub feeds on the grey duiker. Pinknose placed the kill on the leafiest branches to prevent it being seen by vultures
