A pause between playing and exploring
Tai Dam Female at night. This leopard is very shy and quickly runs off when sighted.
One of Makwela's cubs at 15 months. Seen at night. Even at this age Makwela calls her cubs to a kill.
A sibling also rests on the ground below the kill.
But soon the cubs climbs up to the impala carcase.
... and starts chewing on a leg.
Then feeds on the meat of the impala's torso

The following morning Makwela is still resting beneath the impala kill
A superb hunter, Makwela has provided well for her three teenagers
The third cub lies a little way from Makwela
The following evening Makwela remarks her territory using glands around the eyes
and by spraying urine and pawing at the ground with her hind feet

Later in the day Makwela is again hunting impala, but this time the herd detected her before she could strike.
