Shangwa's Cub #1 at 8 months old
Shangwa's cub # 2 (the cubs will only be named once they are independant and have a territory).
Though the cubs will spend a lot of time sleeping, they are always on the alert for possible prey or dangerous predators
The cubs climbs a termite mound to hunt a mongoose
The cub had spotted a family group of dwarf mongooses as well as a slender mongoose
No luck hunting this time
But overnight she managed to catch a largespotted genet, a nocturnal relative of mongooses
The cubs will stay quite close to each other and wait for their mother to call for them
The cubs are left alone for days at a time while Shangwa goes off to hunt.
From 3 months old Shangwa's cubs were able to catch prey such as genets
